Trixie Mattel

Drag queen and make up entrepreneur Trixie Mattel has launched her first solo foray into the makeup world and it’s everything we hoped it would be! Our fave ‘Oh Honey!” star’s products include the Stacy Lipstick, a bright bubblegum pink Mattel describes as "perfect for daytime realness." There are also four shades of glitter and five variations of hair and body shimmer, many of which sold out within days of launch. Trixie actually brought in toy designers to ensure that the packaging would be super fun and cheeky. To quote the diva: "I noticed that they call it a makeup routine; I'm like, 'Mama, if it feels routine, switch it up.'

The McHive
McDonald’s has just opened the world’s tiniest restaurant, and NONE of us are invited! The mini-McDonald’s, or the McHive as it’s known, is part of a new initiative by the fast-food chain to preserve bees. It’s located in Sweden, where some McDonald’s restaurants already have hives on their roofs as part of the initiative.

The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China
LACMA- June 2 21019 – June 2020
Just debuted, this breathtaking and massively scaled exhibit takes a look at the unique and intimate relationship that Chinese contemporary artists have formed with their materials. The media choices on display range from the commonplace to the unconventional, including plastic, water, wood, hair tobacco and even Coca-Cola. The Allure of Matter, Material Art from China features some of the most influential Chinese contemporary artists working today, including XuBing, Cai Guo-Quiang, Lin Tainmiao and Ai Weiwei. Astounding, provocative and humbling.

Dream
Tie-Dye
Tie-dye is coming for your home!! Brands like Superpoly and Fredrik Paulsen are putting their own groovy touch on the newly in-vogue pattern, with a gorgeous, dreamy palette.
“I started to experiment with staining wood in tie-dye,” says Paulsen. “One night at a party, there were these multicolored garlands that had fallen down on a wet table, dropping pigment and leaving beautiful stains. That’s when I started buying loads of garlands and tissue paper to put on wood before soaking it in water.” Sounds like go time to us!
